AchieveMents: Lakshya trust is a public charitable trust registered in the year 2000 under Bombay public charitable trust Act. The organization primary works on health issues under which it has three projects in three different cities of Gujarat i.e. Baroda, Surat and Rajkot on HIV/AIDS and prevention under these projects, the organization carries out various activities such as Outreach and awareness programmes, condom promotion, STI’s treatment, free health camps, distribution of IEC material for awareness purpose, need assessment and health surveys, counseling on STI’s, HRB and general. Apart from the HIV / AIDS awareness project the organization also has two UNDP (United Nations Development Programme Project) projects in two cities i.e. Baroda and Surat which primarily focuses on education, employment, empowerment and capacity building issues of various marginalized communities. The organization also has worked on a study project implemented by Gujarat State AIDS Control Society – Ahmedabad with technical assistance of sexual health resource centre – New Delhi, the project was funded by department for international development. This project primarily focused on prevalence of sexually transmitted infections among the MSM (Men having Sex with Men) in Vadodara during the year 2004, this surveillance is one of its kind to be under taken in the country.
