AchieveMents: The Meitei Traditional Dance Teaching School and Performing Centre was opened on the auspicious day Saturday 18th September, 1993 in the Premises of J.N.M. Dance Academy, Imphal. In earnest desire for the preservation and promotion of traditional dance, Smt.Elam Indira Devi, founded the organization in 1993.
The most important basic aim and objective of the dance organization is to find a path for our young Artistes by imparting in our Cultural Tradition Dances to enable them to feel love of their mother Country by diffusing the knowledge into them of our rich culture and involve themselves in bringing peace and prosperity not to the country in particular but also to the world at large through the resplendent career of our Manipur Dance.

Here , in brief, is a sampling of what the Meitei Traditional Dance Teaching and Performing Center has accomplished since 1993, when the organization was founded:
1.Cultural Exchange Programme:
Under the sponsorship of ICCR, India, 10 Artists participated in all levels of cultural activities extra curricular activities in the Re Union Island, during Tamil New Year Celebration from 4th to 22nd April 2010.
The organization has participated in various exhibition workshops seminars and cultural programmes in and outside the state.
An international interaction on culture in South East Asia like :Thailand, Indonesia, and Burma was actively participated by the artist from the organization.
Participated in Cultural Festival ( OCTAVE : A festival of North East in Patna, Bihar in 2008.
Seminars organized by UNESCO (CUCAI), in various parts of the country, are being participated by the organization every year.
Artists from the organization participated in the 4th international Folklore Festival held at Surinder Rajabhat University Sarin Province in Thailand.
Participated in North eat Festival at Nalanda in UP.
Artist participates in various state tourism festivals.
Artists particapted in Common Wealth Game 2010.
2. Yearly Workshop:
The organization conducts workshop annually, recognizes talents, award major achievers.
During the annual function, the artist performs programs on Social awareness, like, AIDS, through dance cum lecture demonstration.
3. Promoting Lai Haraoba :
The organization plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of Umang Lai Haraoba. It has done many lecture cum demonstration and research works on the subject at various levels.
4. Doordashan and Radio programme:
The organization has given performances at various cultural shows on Doordashan Channel. Artists from the organization have given various auditions on Radio on subjects of Lai Haraoba.
