AchieveMents: ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE FOUNDATION The Alhikmah Foundation is a mass movement supported by people from all walks of life. In 1990, the seeds of this movement were sown to establish Peace and Communal Harmony in the country and to reach out to the sick, the poor and the downtrodden, in order to make health and education a reality for our less fortunate fellow beings. The Foundation was registered in 1997 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The World Health Organization describes health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. Alhikmah strives to achieve this complete physical, mental and social wellness for one and all. Peace and Communal Harmony: Over the years the Alhikmah Foundation has turned into a melting-pot wherein all streams of thoughts converge. This confluence of ideas engenders a beautiful bouquet that radiates the fragrance of Communal Harmony, Peace and National Integration. Whatever may be the pursuit – health, education or general welfare – the nucleus around which the Foundation’s world of activities revolves is Peacemaking in its all forms and shades. This single-minded focus has yielded rich rewards for the Foundation. In this short span of time the Foundation has been successful in carving out a niche place as a leading organization perpetually engaged in fostering patriotism. Education In the field of education, the Foundation is striving very hard to achieve its goal to educate to our less fortunate fellow being and bring them at par with educational haves. To achieve this goal the Foundation is involved in: • Supporting meritorious but needy students • Running Library-cum-Reading room facilities • Coaching for entrance exams of B. Ed., Basics, ETE etc. • Remedial and Spoken English Classes • Research and Compilation work • Seminars/Lectures on social themes • Career Guidance and Counseling Health In the field of health the Foundation is presently running five Charitable Health Centre in Delhi and several others in coordination with other organizations and individuals in Delhi & UP. In addition to this the Foundation also organizes Free Health Camps, Polio and Hepatitis B vaccination camps occasionally. Seminars/Awareness Programmes: The Foundation regularly organizes seminar/conferences and awareness programmes on the important issues affecting the masses. The themes of the last five years seminars/conference are as under: • Ensuring Peace : Citizens’ Responsibilities (2006), • Healthy Values, Healthy World (2007) • Maintaining Peace: Present Challenges (2009) • Interfaith Partnership for Development (2010) • Serving Humanity: Need and Relevance (2011) Publications: The Foundation regularly bring out a souvenir on the occasion of its Annual Function and Seminar. In this souvenir useful articles contributed by the eminent personalities and authors on the theme of the seminar are being published. It also contains massages and annual report of the Foundation. In addition to above the Foundation has so far published following two books to clearly understand the teachings of Holy Qur’an on Knowledge and Peace: • Knowledge Qur’anic Concepts (Arabic, English and Urdu) • Qur’an ka Shanti Sandesh; Qur’an ka Paigham-e-Amn (Urdu and Hindi)
