AchieveMents: Durgabai Mahila Sisu Vikasa Kendrams (Popularly known as Mahila Pranganams). which are district resource centre of APWCFC undertaking by GOAP and functions as a part of the Department of WD&CW, established during the year 1987 has been a key player in the Capacity building of rural women in Andhra Pradesh in various vocations both in technical and service sectors with an integrated developmental approach of training and facilitating women to avail self / wage employment opportunities. VISION: To achieve economic empowerment of Rural and Urban Women by providing opportunities for participation, protection, economic development, and capacity building. 1. Skill and Vocational Training Programmes for Women: a) Tomato processing, Tailoring, Fashion Designing, Basic Sewing Machine operator and surface ornamentation, ERC(English & Work Readiness in Computer), Beautician courses, Tie & Dye, Bed side nursing, She Auto & car driving. Courses, Pre Primary Teacher training , DTP, MPHW(F) courses. Jute and leather bags making , Jardosi work, Food Processing , and other short term training program. b) Since inception we covered about 7000 women in the above training programs. c) Funding agencies are DRDA, MEPMA, APSKWDC, WD&CD, Medical and Health Dept, GOI. 2. Regular Departmental Training Units: a) Anganwadi workers Training Center assisted by (GOI, WCD), covered 10,000 women. b) Training to Asha volunteers assisted by Health & Family Welfare covered 4000 women 3. Maintaining Working Women’s Hostels in all the Districts.
