AchieveMents: According to National Study on Child Abuse conducted in 2007, as many as 53% children in India face sexual abuse at home, at school, at their places of work, and in institutional care. 50% abusers are persons known to the child or in a position of trust and responsibility. We are an award winning organization based in Mumbai working hard to address this issue of child sexual abuse. We are the largest NGO in India working to reduce the occurrence of child sexual abuse and heal its psychological, social, sexual and physical consequences. We are a 60 member team whose mission is to educate children by teaching them personal safety skills in order to empower them to deal with and tackle any form of sexual abuse. We recently achieved “Platinum Certification” by ‘Guide Star India’ for Transparency and Public accountability. Over the last 8 years Arpan has directed reached out to 135000 children, parents and teachers with Knowledge and skills to prevent the risk of child sexual abuse and 525000 indirectly through its all programs. 3 main programs 1. Personal Safety Education 2. Mental health services 3. Child sexual abuse awareness and training of trainers
