AchieveMents: Have conducted orientation cum training programme on Gender Mainstreaming in Disaster Management for district level officers for all eight project district of Uttarakhand. June, 2009, DMMC, Dehradun. Have conducted a study on “Gender Mainstreaming and Disaster Management”. Prime responsibility under this project is to produce a quantitatively analyzed report to achieve the objectives. Study was based on primary data, collected through the structured interview schedule from identified villages of all over Uttarakhand. 2008-09, DMMC, Dehradun Have conducted a field based study covering disaster effected population-women’s to drawn out some practical suggestion to mainstreaming gender sensitive approach in disaster management. This was based on primary information collected through interview of victims /effected population residing in district Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Uttarkashi. 2008-09, DMMC, Dehradun Documentation for Disaster Management & Mitigation programme-2003 to 08, for District Bageshwar, Uttrakhand: This is documentation exercise to cover all aspects of UNDP supported Disaster Management Program. The Status report is organized into seven chapters, each chapter represents a major theme on the basis of which indicators are grouped. PRI exercise based study was conducted to quantify gender discrepancy in work distribution and non recognition of “women daily workload” in term of monetary gain, saving income. The study grasps this opportunity for valuing women /man workload by quantifying it with well defined scoring method.
