AchieveMents: BINDWAL EDUCATIONAL AND WELFARE SOCIETY Taking the very name of village Bindwal, the birth place of Allama Shibli Nomani (1857-1914) evokes a sense of pride among the Muslims.His father Sheikh Habibullah,was an enlightened person who understood the importance of English and the learning of science. Accordingly he along with few other Muslims of azamgarh, donated money when Aligarh Mohammaden School was in the process of being built in 1875-76.Little did he know then that his son, Shibli Nomani, was to play a tremendous role in the modernisation of the Muslim.The opening of Shibli National school in 1883 was the first step towards modernisation of the people at a time when many other neighbouring district logged behind. The legacy of Shibli was carried on and Bindwal produced a number of intellectuals, Writers,Sportsman,Doctors, Lawyers,Politicians, etc, etc. However, since the past few decades stagnancy developed. It could not keep pace with the development of science and technology. It is amidst such a background that a group of youngesters have come forward and laid the foundation of a society with the name of “Bindwal Educational and Welfare Society”.The aims and objectives of the society are as follows.In general it aims at promoting education along with numerous cultured and economic programmes for the uplift of illiterates and downtroden Muslims. The society has and ambitious programmes of enhancing standard of the teaching. It intends to open technical Institutes,create interest in the study of science by displaying science exibitions etc. The significant thing about the society is that it has admitted human members as well. A copy of the society members has been attached. The society intends to promote the sprit of nationalism and will ever respond to the call of national need.
