AchieveMents: Major Activities Activities : Centre for Social Development was established in the year 1985 with the sold object of building a community based on health, education, child and economic and social empowerment of under privileged women labour in rural areas. The main beneficiaries of our programme are the poor, illiterate, ill-fed and nutritionally deficient children and women in those areas. Project and Particulars of Work done : The following programme have been conducted by csd :  Integrated Programmne for Welfare of Street and Working Children in certain sectors in Kolkata supported financially by Govt. of India (Ministry of Women and Child Developoment).  Sikshalaya Prakalpa from 1999 on Mainstreaming & supporting Education for 25 Streets & Working Children by dint of 1 such education centers being run at South Kolkata in collaboration with CLPOA under financial support from Govt. of West Bengal.  The Integrated Child Protection Scheme – permission granted to CSD for the month of December. This Scheme is extended to 25 Children in Need of Care and Protection and children in conflict and contact with the law.  Our Organisation conducted 5 numbers of workshops with 100 numbers of women labour by the legal practitioner to generate awareness and give training about various rights laws.  To generate awareness among the women labours also discuss about the benefit of the labour laws, and give idea about the probation of various labours laws also trained them how to use these laws in their work and stop discrimination.  Conducted 4 numbers of workshop programme by the expert with 100 numbers of women labour about some Government scheme that help to them for avail under different schemes.  Health Program which would serve the interest of the Poorest members of the urban and rural localities.  Education Program which would serve the interest of the poorest members of the urban and rural localities in which h CSD is active.  Vocational Training & HIV Awareness.  Awareness of Women’s empowerment, Women’s right, prevention of child labour. CSD has focused to build a community based health and education programme, which would serve for the interest of the poorest members of the urban and rural localities. The main clientele and beneficiaries are the poor, illiterate, ill fed and nutritionally deficient children and women in those areas. So, the programme aims to make the helpless people self-reliant and self-sufficient. CSD has also focused its attention on curricular activities and recreation to channelize the energies of children they work with. The organization has endeavored to raise public awareness through mass rallies, poster campaigns, on issues around child labour.CSD forms part of the City Lev el Programme of Action network in Kolkata ( a network of 50 NGOs working with street and working children and sin c e 1997. CSD has been functioning as a Nodal agency in South Zone in th Kolkata Plan of Action (now CLPOA) upto 2011. Currently we are involved in the implementation of awareness programme on HIV/AIDS in six villages and fourteen brick kilns in the district of 24-Parganas (N).
