AchieveMents: Major Activities / Achievements of CREFTDA. CREFTDA has vast experiences in working with the Government, NGOs,CBOs, PRIs along with the community since its inception in the year 1991. We have experienced in conducting need-based training, organizing/mobilizing community, developing IEC materials/activities in local languages, and facilitation of development projects, livelihoods and food security interventions, facilitating the Govt programme, Environment management and forest protection activities, promoting self help movement, Protection of rights, etc. Development Sector: ââ¬Â¢ Flood Response Programme (FRP): FRP programme we undertook a program ââ¬ÅIntegrated Intervention for Reduction of Multiple Vulnerabilitiesââ¬Â during 2008-09. The said program was undertaken in Badasahi block of Mayurbhanj district in collaboration with CARE- India to respond the Vulnerability of the marginalized population worsen of the flood in the year 2007-08. This programme encompasses livelihood, health and education. We organized the community and strengthened their capacity through meetings, trainings, workshop and exposures for the CBO,PRI and other stakeholders.. ââ¬Â¢ To enhance accountable, responsive & transparent Governance at the grass roots level we took up initiatives for empowering and strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions (Local Self Governance) and CBOs of Jashipur block. Organized BCC activities in different panchyats and also developed IEC materials. PRIA, New Delhi and DFID, UK provided financial and technical support in implementing the program. ââ¬Â¢ CREFTDA initiated a project named ââ¬ÅKHOJââ¬Â project (search) with the assistance of VHAI, New Delhi and EED Germany. The project aimed at control of morbidity and reducing infant and maternal mortality rate in the inaccessible pockets of Similipal forests area of Jashipur block. For the improvement of health status of the project area we undertook curative, preventive & promotive aspects of health in our intervention. ââ¬Â¢ Promotion of SHGs: CREFTDA facilitate SHGs since 1999 & it is also proved that SHG movement is an effective intervention strategy for poverty alleviation. Accordingly we have formed 46 SHGs with 561 members. SHGs we see as the social change agents and accordingly in the process they are also involved in solving different social issues like ââ¬â antiliquor campaign, anti dowry, women abuse and in different health issues of mother and children. ââ¬Â¢ Education :We run a Child Labour School of 50 child labour students at Hatibari of Karanjia block in collaboration with NCLP (National child labour Project) Mayurbhanj. Health Sector ââ¬Â¢ In partnership with CARE, Orissa we are conducting ââ¬ÅIntegrated Nutrition and Health Programme (INHP)ââ¬Â in 08 Blocks of Mayurbhanj district. In this programme we are involved in the mal nutrition reduction activities. We are associated with Care,Orissa since 1999. ââ¬Â¢ RCH Field NGO: We undertook RCH-II project in 03 Sub-center area of Jashipur Block in 2006 & 2007. The aim of the project to reduce unmet needs of couples, maternal, child and infant morbidity and mortality. We took up strategies like awareness building, strengthening different stakeholders and institutions and service provisions.. ââ¬Â¢ With the partnership of LEPRA India we are undertaking Mayurbhanj Integrated Community Health Project in four bocks on control of vector borne diseases ââ¬â Malaria, T. B. & Leprosy from Januaryââ¬â¢06 which is a five years project where we organized empowerment and BCCC activities in the remote areas of the said blocks. ââ¬Â¢ We involved in malaria control measures & also organized Indoor residual Spray programme in 9 Sub-center areas of Jashipur Block in collaboration with Health and WCD deptt. ââ¬Â¢ Presently we are also associated with UNICEF & Government of Orissa related to the organization of Integrated Management of Neonatal Childhood Illness (IMNCI) training at S D H, Karanjia where we imparted training to the front line service providers of Health and ICDS (W & CD) departments. ââ¬Â¢ We organized child rights activities in 24 panchayats of Jashipur Block & Ghasipura blocks with UNICEF-Orissa. In Mayurbhanj district we organized in ââ¬ÅBorder Cluster District Strategyââ¬Â activities in 20 GPs of Jashipur Block in order to interface the community leaders and PR representatives with the Govt. counter parts like Health dept. and ICDS in collaboration with UNICEF, Orissa.
