AchieveMents: Women Development and Empowerment
DAWN Trust has carried out a programme of helping women in the rural area of Perambalur District Tamilnadu in skills development and income generation activities with the assistance of Mahalir Thittam Tamilnadu Social Welfare Board Perambalur. More than two hundred and fifty women have been so far trained in various activities such as Beautician course Lab Technician Training candle making phenol Chalk piece and Camphor making.
Created awareness programmes on Legal Aid and Violence against Women.
Identified outsatanding women in various feild of Education Health Social work HIV positive women Gypsy Physically challenged women group leaders and provided awards on womens day.

Community Action for Health Project under NRHM DAWN Trust has formed twenty Village Health Water Sanitation Nutrition Committee in Perambalur Block. Each committee comprises fifteen to twenty five members. DAWN Trust has given orientation and periodical training to the members of the committee to achieve their health rights on their own. Vellore Panchayat and Ladapuram Panchayat committees solved the problem of darkness of the road near Primary Health Centre. Through their efforts the street lights were provided in the road near PHC. Asbestos sheet roofs were place over the waiting place for the benefit of patients. The TASMAC Wine Shop opposite to Chatramanai Panchayat PHC was nuisance for patients and women. With our initiation the shop was taken away from that place. To control spread of flu and other epidermis diseases necessary steps were taken to chlorinate by mixing of chlorine in the drinking water tanks periodically. Information Boards were installed in fifteen panchayat it gives necessary information regarding health facilities.
DAWN has organised two hundred and four GKS meeting and special events rally exhibition in various villages of perambalur and created mass awareness on TB. HIV AIDS awareness created through mass rally seminars Exhibition and staging cultural shows. More than fifty three general medical and eye camp organised for general public especially women and children. DAWN trust is organising Periodical School Health programme and Village sanitation programme.
DAWN trust is donating minimum twenty units of blood every year to Government general Hospital and other voluntary organisation.
Education and Literacy.
Under the assistance of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Alternative Innovative Education scheme DAWN Trust had provided non formal education to one hundred and thirty seven children in Alathur Block of Perambalur District and they were made to re enter into institutions of formal education. DAWN has organised Special Residential Bridge Course at Yasanai Village of Perambalur District for the benefit of twenty five mentally retarded children at the age group between six years and fourteen years under the SSA. Special teachers spend time with the children adapting their training methods to their varying degrees of mental retardation. The life skills training is provided to equip the mentally retarded students to look after themselves and maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness.
