AchieveMents: Gramin Utthan Samiti kapkote is situated at about 3000 feet’s height which is sub divided into 03 blocks. Head quarter named as KAPKOTE is an agricultural area which is totally depends on the natural rains, which is not sufficient for their survival. Owing to this 70% of them have to go for work to nearby towns/cities. All the work at home, like looking after the cattle & agriculture is surrounded by the women. Men are working in the armed forces and hotels. When they don’t send money home, their families suffer and not able to spend on their needs and on their health. Provision of reproductive health services is generally poor in this district BAGESHWAR & women are majority lack access to saves appropriate and timely health care. BAGESHWAR is a DISTT of kumaoun, which renamed under medieval feudal system. The fact is also contributed to its isolation; villages are small and scattered, making delivery of health services extremely difficult. The hilly terrain makes it difficult to transport sick people too far – 0ff hospitals. Untrained birth attendants conduct 90% of all deliveries, improper antenatal and postnatal care led to RTI and high maternal and child morbidity and mortality. Lack of motivation and awareness has led to poor immunization and malnourished status of children. Gramin Utthan Samiti is a national MNGO (1979) & contributes towards its mission & goal for improving RCH in accordance with the policy of Govt. of INDIA. Its main objectives are to promote the health status of people with maximum emphasis to women, children & adolescent.
