AchieveMents: Health Education and Development Society (HEADS), which contains the detailed picture of the services rendered, activities implemented for the welfare and development of the weaker section of society. It is well aware that HEADS was promoted by some of our youth team members emerged from rural settings and started as a service organization with the mission of ââ¬ÅEmpowering Oppressed Community through Education, Awareness and Participation on Development Servicesââ¬Â. It was started in the year 1991 and got registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975. Being started as a small local organization providing voluntary services in 5 villages in and around Nallur village in Kulithalai Block in Karur District, at present it is working in 45 villages in Kulithalai, Thogamalai, Krishnarayapuram and Aravakurichi Blocks in Karur District. There are 40 staff members in the Field and Administration in addition to 45 Volunteers. During the year 2004-2005, HEADS has implemented various schemes and programmes as institutional as well as non-institutional services for the socially disadvantaged groups such as women in distress living in poor and difficult circumstances, children, adolescents and youth and old age persons in the target area. ïÆË Integrated special homes for destitute Children and Aged people shelter ïÆË Family Counseling Centre, ïÆË Short Stay Home, ïÆË Rajiv Gandhi National Creche programme ïÆË Old Age Person, PLHA programme, ïÆË Micro level programmes ïÆË Awareness Programmes on Women Empowerment programmes, ïÆË EDP programmes, Vocational Training , ïÆË South Indian AIDS Action programme HIV/AIDS MSM intervention programme, , ïÆË R.T.E agricultural entrepreneurship training and celebration of important world national days. Our special focus of actives during this years has been on HIV/AIDS affected women and children who have been toiling for livelihood and educational training in the society. This year HEADS has conducted shortly on his own strength capacity and its future by inviting From2013 to 2014. The shortly helped the Director, Staff Members, Volunteers, Members of Governing body and the Target People to realize this strength and capacity and the direction in which HEADS has to grow to achieve this goals. Vocational skills on the following trades were organized for the SHG women members during this year for their economic empowerment: ââ¬Â¢ Food Processing-Juice and Jam Making ââ¬Â¢ Pickles/Pappadam Making ââ¬Â¢ Grocery Condiments Preparation ââ¬Â¢ Milk and Milk Products ââ¬Â¢ Basket Making ââ¬Â¢ Fur Toy Making ââ¬Â¢ Pearls Garlands Making ââ¬Â¢ Woolen Mat Making ââ¬Â¢ Goat/Sheep/Rabbit Rearing ââ¬Â¢ Candle/Camphor/Incense Cake and Stick Making The above skill trainings are three days orientation camps in which the group members were imparted demonstration of practical work of making such goods. In the above six trades, 270 SHG members were trained at 30 members for each trade While thanking the Sponsors, Donors, Government Officials, Well Wishers, Community Members, Volunteers, Staff Team and the Executive Committee Members for their cooperation and coordination in implementing our programmes and extending our committed services to the oppressed communities, we are happy to propose our near future programmes planned for implementation for the benefits of the community. They include: ââ¬Â¢ Expansion of Old Age Home by Availing Government Grants
