AchieveMents: Human Welfare Association is a Varanasi (U.P.) based on Non-Government organization to organize and empower the most advantage and marginalized section of society for sustainable and comprehensive development leading to improve quality of living. The organization is intervening primarily socio economic empowerment of marginalized community women, marginalized farmers, handloom weavers, handicraft artisans, providing livelihood to the women, youth development, issues related to child rights, basic education, child labour & child trafficking, sanitation, health and hygiene education and promotion of traditional handicrafts of the targeted communities with advocacy and lobbying. Presently the organization is working in 400 villages and 20 slums of Varanasi, Mirzapur, Ghazipur and Bhadohi districts of Uttar Pradesh. There will be a separate forum "Mahila shakti" for women (more than 3500 women-SHG members from marginalized community are associated and involved in without subsidy based SHG initiative). Direct intervention with 5000 artisans and weavers in Varanasi for their sustainable development and social entitlement including convergence of various related Govt. schemes including legal protection through GI Registration-IPR of related crafts. A conscious strategy would be ensure that empowerment of women and youth as a simultaneous process takes place adequate and equal representation of women in all forums will be insured. Women will be trained the enabled to play a positive role in development through exposures, workshop and awareness camps aimed at confidence building. Efforts would be made identify capable women from within the community who could motivate women. HWA believes in forging a spirit of partnership with the community and genuine partner in their development. It wishes to bring in transparency and accountability in its operations, which would go long way in capacity building of the community and developing its self-confidence in managing development. Facilitated for IPR - GI registration of Banaras Brocades and Sarees Wooden Lacquerware & Toys, Gulabi Meenakari, Metal Repouse craft, Nizamabad Black Pottery, Mirzapur Handmade Dari, Handmade Carpet of Bhadohi, all has granted. Handloom mark , India Handloom, Gender issues, Communal harmony, Involved in the Advocacy on Child Rights, Handloom, Handicraft, Weavers, Artisans, Marginalized Farmers, Women literacy initiative and Future Energy issues is also focus of organization. Facilitating Going Green project at Varanasi for handloom sector with 5000 weaves and artisans. Involved in launching event of USTTAD, Ministry of Minority Affairs, and GOI and facilitated in product development through NID & NIFT in Varanasi with the artisans in USTTAD scheme. Latest Awards: 1. Three young girls from HWA-Education project are winner of IBN-7 Real Hero Award 2012 (24th March, 2012 of Rs. Five Lakhs at Taj Hotel, Mumbai by the hand of Ms. Neeta Ambani (Riches business lady) and Mr. Amir Khan(Film Actor). 2. Hindustan Times Special Women Award to the HWA supported project women Self Help Group leader Ms.Raman Devi, 70 Yrs. on 31st March, 2012 by the hand of Sri Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister, U.P. 3. HWA Mahila Shakti Project has awarded Vodafone Mobile for Goods – Billionth Award – South Asia 2012 on 21st July, 2012 at New Delhi. 4. Ms.Sheela Devi, Ms. Vijay Laxmi and Ms. Guduna Devi has awarded by Hindustan Times Women Award – Certificate of Appreciation in 2013 by the hand of renowned film actress Ms.Shabana Azmi . All are associated with this organization since many years and working at grass-root level. 5. Ms.Madhuri Devi – Winner of Amar Ujala Achiever Award for women empowerment – 2013 with Rs.50,000 with Trophy & Certificate at Lucknow by the hand of great Film Actress Asha Parekh in a grand function. 6. Mahila Shakti project is winner of Social Media & Empowerment Award-2013 in Manthan Award function at New Delhi on 6th December,2013. 7. Dr. Rajani Kant, Director of Human Welfare Association has awarded by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Sri Akhilesh Singh Yadav as "Best Social Entrepreneur" Samay Udyami Awards-2013 on 23rd February,2014 at hotel Vivanta-Taj at Lucknow. 8. Ms. Noshaba has received “HT Women Award” appreciation certificate by the hand of renowned singer Sri Kailash Kher on 3rd April,2014 at hotel Vivanta-Taj at Lucknow. 9. Human Welfare Association has awarded in 3rd The e-NGO Challenge South Asia Award- 2014 on 5th November,2014 at New Delhi . 10. Human Welfare Association has received The Manthan Award for Uttar Pradesh - e-Uttra Awards-2014 by the hand of Sri Abhishek Mishra, Minister of Information and Technology, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. 11. Hindustan Times Women Award-2015 to the HWA supported project Supervisor Ms. Madhuri Singh for women Self Help Group on 8th May,2015 by the hand of Sri Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister, U.P. at Taj hotel, Lucknow and she has also awarded Rani Laxmi Bai Veerta Puraskar on 8th March, International Women Day by the C.M. of U.P with price of Rs. One Lakh, Trophy and Certificate. The organization has submitted the online FCRA Annual Return(FC-4) for the financial year 2015-16 on 30.07.2016 and society registration renewal process update.
