Ever since its foundation in 1935 the Indian History Congress has concerned itself with transmitting an objective view of Indian history which is also the objective of national Education Policy. Its Proceedings is recognised by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Besides our organisation has produced its (1) annual Symposium lectures (2) Volumes Ancient, Medieval and Modern periods edited by Brajadulal Chattopadhyaya, Satish Chandra and S. Bhattacharya.

75th session was held at University of Gour Banga, Malda 27-29 December 2016. More than 1200 delegates attended the session including scholars from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Iran, Egypt, Japan and South Korea. Profs. John Ricardo I. June Cole, U.S.A, K.M. Shrimali, and Kesavan Veluthat spoke in the symposium on Dissent and Tradition in Religion.

77th session was held at University of Kerala 28-30 December 2016. It was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri Pranab Mukherjee, President of India. Its was attended by more than 1400 delegates. Four panels were organized: The Kerala Council of Historical Research: The Aligarh Historians Society: A panel on Dalit history: and a panel on Indo-Dutch trade. Besides Germany and the Netherlands colleagues from Canada, Bangladesh, Fiji and Sri Lanka also attended Congress.
