AchieveMents: About Organisation Kids ® was established in 2001-02. We focus on eco friendly life styles, medicinal plant and address climate change regionally. Parisara Mitra School (eco friendly schools): the objective of the programme is learning, understand, educate and disseminate the knowledge of natural resources in a sustainable way. Literacy on Air, Water, Soil, Energy, Health Hygiene & Teaching Learning methodologies. Parisara mitra school programme (environmental literacy) was initiated from KIDS 2007-08 with in a district identifying 21 schools every year and honouring with cash award and citation. Latter KSPCB appreciated our work and disseminated to the entire 34 educational district in Karnataka and recognizing 714 schools as parisara mitra with a plan to move this message to go green and sustainable life style activities. Environmental literacy: We are conducting the day camps and residential camps throughout the year. The camps are school level, district level, state level and National Level. Research and out reach programme – Changing climate at regional level: Involving students and communities in educating regarding agriculture, biodiversity, forest tree phenology, urban tree phenology, home garden diversity, Ethanobotany, folklore knowledge, forest fire and ecosystem adaptability, soil carbon sink, food consumption pattern and carbon stock estimation, Medicinal plants: medicinal plant and folklore knowledge in the ecosystem, transforming from elderly people to school students by growing medicinal plants in school and home gardens with geographically species specific. Publications from KIDS ®: • Parisara Sandesha Bimonthly Journal (since 2010) circulating to all the 3000 schools in Shivamogga district. • Karunada akkigalu by Pro.B.B.Hosetti and Dr.Dayanad. • Ka kaa ki kii kagunitha by Srilakshmi.S.N. • Tambuli Thili.
