AchieveMents: INTRODUCTION: Kothapet Mahila Mandali was established in the year 1972. It is a non-profit oriented voluntary organization working in the field of Social Welfare, Rural Development, Health and Education and registered under the Registration of Societies Act 1860 in the year 1975 with the No.43 and also registered under FCRA with no. 010190137. The Organization has been working with great commitment of urban slums, rural and tribal areas irrespective of caste, religion and other sectarian differences and with specific objective. It is working for the cause of under privileged, downtrodden and poor and needy peoples development of Guntur district, A.P. as its head quarters and extended its activities are over the 20 Mandals of Guntur District. The founder of the organization Smt. P.Rajya Lakshmi is eminent Social worker dedicated her services to the poor and needy with a group of close associations who are well-known Social workers and reformers. VISION OF THE ORGANIZATION: Organization work for to enable women folk to develop citizenship skills, leadership qualities and empowering powers enable them to have more control over the decision which directly affect them and to promote welfare programmes for sustainable development of women and child, aged and youth. Provide institutional services to the children, youth, women and senior citizens as well to bring transact benefits of communities in a wide range of social policy including leisure, welfare, education, planning, health care and economical status. ACTIVITIES UNDER TAKEN TARGETED INTERVENTION PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN INVOLVED IN COMMERCIAL SEX WORKS SUPPORTED BY APSACS, HYD. The aims and objectives of the project is to impart information on STD/HIV/AIDS for safe sex practices among sex workers to improve the health seeking behavior for STDs among sex workers and to develop support systems to sustain behavior change for improved sexual health for HRGs. we have identified 25 Hot Spots, where HRGs and ESHs exists either by doing sex business or living on commission basis. Outreach workers used to visit the areas and already built good rapport amongst HRGs, ESHs and partners (clients) and would explain the project activities such as providing knowledge on transmission modes, types, signs and symptoms of STD/HIV/AIDS, relationship between a STD and HIV, protective value and correct usage of condom, STD treatment and importance of partner treatment. HRGs would be given motivation for safe sex practices through BCC sessions. And provide information regarding knowledge on STD/HIV/AIDS and safe sex practices before BCC contacts, and knowledge on STD/HIV/AIDS and safe sex practices of the BCC contacts. To reach the goal that we have Estimated 1515 and we covered 1508 HRGs who were imparted information on STD/HIV/AIDS for safe sex practices accessing to enhance the sexual health of 1520 sex workers practicing high risk behavior to medium risk behavior in Guntur by the end of March 2016 and out reached. ACHIEVEMENT: To achieve the goal for enhancing the sexual health of 1520 sex workers at Guntur City practicing high risk behavior to medium risk behavior, that we have reached and identified STD cases on total number of 19 were given treatment by project money and apart from this through BCC component we provided them knowledge on STD treatment, signs, symptoms and proper usage of condom for safe sex methods. KMM developed one CBO named Pragathi Mahila Samakhya. PMS is got a won project from SWASTI. Successfully running this year also. They are providing services to Community High Risk Groups. They are working on 5 pillars and Social entitlements like Aadhar cards, Ration cards, Widows pensions, Birth and Death certificates. They have 56 Saving groups with community Members. AN INTEGRATAED PROGRAMME FOR WELFARE OF STREET CHILDREN Out of the organizational sector programs it involves attempts to share its understanding of which these children are why they are in need of care and protection and what organization commits to in order to ensure a child hood for all these children. The intervention strategy followed for children in need of care and protection is highlighted through the response to rehabilitation continuum. At the outset we are looking after welfare of nearly 100 above in this financial year. We have the 28 street children at the end of Mar. ’16 with the Organizational contribution since 2010 without any financial assistance from the Ministry of Women & Child Development, India. Adding 2015-2016. THE DIFFERENT GROUPS OF CHILDREN LIVING ON THE STREETS ARE: CHILDREN ‘ON’ THE STREET: By far the largest of three categories this consists primarily of working children who still have familial contact. The nature and degree of contact varies from daily visits to a few times annually. However they have a sense of belonging the family. Children on the street are primarily child laborers. They have been forced into child labor market by family circumstance. They contribute to the income of the family. THE MISSING CHILD: This group of children has run away from home or are victims of circumstances that have separated them from their families. They most often find themselves on the street. Considering categories of the children mentioned above, the organization commits to the children of the said categories on total number of 28, for whom care and protection and basic services like shelter, health care, education, legal help and rehabilitation are provided. Organization ensure that through non-institutional services enhancing the capability of the family to take care of their children and in deciding the best interest of the street children, has choices and rights are being considered. Organization commits itself that working towards short term rehabilitation through alternative programmes for intervention such as rickshaw pulling, serving at the marriage functions as cleaners/servers, mechanical workshops as helpers, labor at markets/bus-shelters and keeping small petty shops for their self esteem and self sustainability. For their self-esteem that we have provided Education, Vocational Training’s and skill development activities to the total number of ¬¬¬20 abandoned vulnerable and missing children are being engaged with their skilled work regularly and we are submitted some of children to C.W.C Guntur regularly. AN INTEGRATED PROGRAMME FOR WELFARE OF OLDER PERSONS This programme is being implemented for this year also looking after the welfare of the 25 senior citizens who are deprived of love and affection, some infirmity of sick, distressed, helpless and dispirited. Organization is providing shelter (home) medical care, food and basic needs for their self-esteem. These senior citizens are being provided shelter, nutrition and medicine. We have 25 beneficiaries at the end of Mar. 16. Since 28 street children are being looked after under the in integrated programme for street children, the said street children are attending to help the older people’s basic facilities and recreates with them, and the street children are sharing experiences of older people. The older people feel happy and idleness / loneliness are kept away for having close intimacy with the street children. SWADHAR SHELTER HOME: KMM has been providing shelter to 50 distressed women and women in its campus. As they are distressed and left their homes, they need shelter and nutrition. They are provided with nutrition, medicine and recreation in the hostel. They all are trained in stitching and knitting in this year. Some women are joined as helpers in the shops and some women are searching for the jobs in various private concerns. Here counseling also providing to the distressed women. Some women complete their training and moved back to their homes. Recently we got a government programme “CERTIFIED OBSERVATION HOME FOR BOYS” at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
