AchieveMents: Background: Krida Evam Yuva Samiti (KEYS), is Pithoragarh based organization registered under societies registration act 21, 1860 bearing registration no 178/2002-03. The organization is working in the rural and urban areas of Pithoragarh district for last many years. One of the major objectives of the organization is working towards the rural women and especially the youths and trains them on income generation activities for making them self sustain. Few of the activities of the organization carried include Education, Health, Nutrition, Road Safety Awareness, Consumer Awareness and Income generation programmes. Major focus of the organization is on SC/ST and economically backward classes of the society. Currently the organization has focused on awareness generation programmes which apart from the above list also include computer education for the minority people, environmental awareness programmes and various development activities for the people of the area. The organization has well trained professionals having vast experience or rural development activities and is equipped with versatile expertise. The organization worked with NABARD under the SHGs formation programme and made 20 groups mostly consists of women. Each group having about 8 members all having women representation. These groups were formed in Sanghar, Bans, Jajurali, Baste and Kalshin Katia villages of Bin block of Pitthoragarh. The present proposal would help in providing them with an alternative and innovative training and help in increasing their social status.
