AchieveMents: Krishnagar RUPKATHA is a reputed theatre group in West Bengal. CHANDRAGUPTA of Dwijendralal Roy and RAKTOKAROBI of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, are the very first productions of us. CHANDRAGUPTA has been staged 6 times and RAKTOKAROBI 7 times. Our first production CHANDRAGUPTA which was staged in 2009. Now we have two new productions, EBONG INDRAJEET(AND INDRAJEET) written by Badal Sircar and SWARGORAM by Pinaki Guha. We have already staged Ebong Indrajeet 8 times and Swargoram 3 times.. Another of our production is concerened with child labours...we aim to introduce the value of education and other morals through our productions..Another of such is the play SUDHA by Kajal Mitra which picturises a stubborn protest against the cons of child labours in our society.this drama has been staged 15 times and it contains only kids who have themselves faced the cruel effects of child labouring. Our other productions with kids from such background includes VALOBASHA by Ratan Kumar Ghosh ,TAK DUMA DUM DUM by Gyanada Nandini Debi,CHATRER PORIKHKHA by Rabindranath Tagore. Other achievements of our group consists of road drama shows for publicity against abuse of illicit liquor & drugs, a venture by the Exise department in the interest of public health.we have performed 10 such shows all over nadia district. Other activities of our group includes lending of educational equipments and winter clothings to 50 child labours.
