AchieveMents: LBVS is working on holistic development of villagers in Takula block of Almora district with child and human rights as its central focus towards the same the organization is working through educational interventionThe organization conducts programs towards awareness and capacity building of Panchyat representatives Van Panchayat Sarpanchs community organizations feeding mothers and ASHA workers Activities around natural resources management and income generation are being undertaken Constant efforts are being made to fight basic probems of birth registration immunization education livelihood and malnutrition We are engaging children and youth collectives through creative activities to uncover their hidden talents Information regarding various central and state schemes for benefits of citizens is being provided to the community along with legal literacy From time to time we also conduct health camps Due to the efforts of the organization the region has seen many positive developments Hundreds of eligible senior citizens widows and disables have been able to access due pensions there has been a reduction in the level of school From the health perspective there has been an increase in the immunization level and institutional childbirth in the region Timber rights were finally availed to the villagers affected by Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary after FIFTEEN years of struggle Thousands of trees were saved from illegal logging in Sunoli Women collectives have been formed to successfully fight forest fires and the efforts of such a collective in Dotiyalganva have been rewarded by the Divisional forest officer of the region Through Forest Department agricultural land in Risaal village was fenced to protect it from wild animals. Around NINETY FIVE PERCENTAGE of land in the region lies barren and efforts are being made to reforest them with the help of villagers The organization has played an important role in bringing out notifications regarding compensations for crop damage and injury to villagers by wild boars and increase in compensations for loss of cattle by leopards
