Jabalpur (MP) – for FCRA account Strategy MWTCW works through the intermediacy of NGOs development agencies, government functionaries, professionals and all persons who are concerned about the futures of rural people through the rural facilitators it trains. DETAILS OF ACTIVITIES DURING THE PERIOD 1 APRIL, 2009TO 31 MARCH 2010 Health and Hygiene Campaign: By organizing health and hygiene week, MWTCW spread the awareness in general public and especially in slum about the health and hygiene practices. What are the safe hygiene practices, why are they needed and what benefit one get, were told to them. The simple slogan “Health is Wealth” was made popular among the children. They were advised to cut their nails regularly and brush their teeth every morning were small but most important massages for them. The parents were advised to take care of their children by imbibing such normal but hygienic habits in them. World Environment Day MWTCW organized the World Environment Day and invited the Mayor and general people to take the part in it. The saplings of various varieties were distributed among people and they were encouraged to plant the saplings in their households and surrounding to support the environment. It was vary encouraging to note that a grand public support was received during the event. World Woman;s Day MWTCW organized ‘‘International Women’s Day on March 08, 2009 and appropriate messages were disseminated with the general public and school children so that they can understand the importance of the day Rural Sanitation program: MWTCW visited the nearby villages and organized the meetings with farmers groups. They were advised regarding personal hygiene and sanitation practices. The mothers were encouraged to keep the surrounding clean and insist the establish toilets in their houses. Program on Malaria Control: This year also we run a program on malaria control. We visited the same villages which we had been visited last year. We met the public and were satisfied to know that most of the people have taken our message serious and now use the mosquito net to prevent from bite of mosquitoes. Reproductive & Child Health Program: Once again to spread the awareness among the pregnant and lactating women, MWTCW organized the reproductive and child health awareness campaign. The women were advised to take IFA tablets, TT vaccine and also get immunized their children appropriately and on time. Awareness on environment: The meetings have been organized with the villager to encourage them to protect the environment. They were told not to cut the trees and also were encouraged to use organic fertilizers; vermin compost etc. to bring an in improvement in their fields. Computer trainings: For the benefit of tribal youths, MWTCW organized the computer training program in computer operation. They student ( both male and female) were taught about MS word, Excel, Access, power point etc. Nursery development: MWTCW encouraged the village to grow kitchen gardens. They were encouraged to plant the fruit trees and other saplings such as Amla, guava, papaya. This they can do even their courtyards or in their “angan” and even the female in the family can take care of them. This is also a good source of income as well as getting the health benefit by its consumption. Vocational training programs: MWTCW arranged the trainings for the child youth and encouraged them to take part in it. The girls were encouraged to join beauty culture and hair dressing classes to learn the skills. They were taught about the pedicure and manicure, various types of skin and its treatment, hairdressing styles etc. They were advised how to deal with the customer and were encouraged to get the proficiency in this field. Environment Protection & Plantation Program: On the occasion of Environment protection day (5th June) our organization MWTCW has been cultivated 500 plants in 50 different dry places where the planting was really found the project was funded by YMCA cantt. Jabalpur. Environment awareness Program: Program on environment Protection & awareness was organized in swarsati engineering college for engineering students in there campus by MWTCW in the month of august the project was funded by Sarda Shiksha Samiti Jabalpur.
