2Publication of the Journal of KAVAKA the Transaction of the Mycological Society of India The word Kavaka represents the Sanskrit word of fungus
3 Kavaka publishes original articles and reviews on all aspects of mycology including conventional and molecular taxonomy phylogeny diversity ecology physiology biochemistry molecular biology and biotechnology and till now 47 volumes of Kavaka have been published
4 The Mycological Society of India constituted Fellow of Mycological Society of India FMSI and Each year applications are sought from perspective candidates to be elected as FMSI and through a review process the Fellows are elected
5 Every year the Mycological Society of India is organising Annual Meetings along with conferences with Universities and Scientific Organisations in various parts of India and till now 43 Annual Meetings have been conducted throughout the country spreading scientific knowledge
6 The Mycological Society of India has instituted the Life Time Achievement Award Dr V Agnihothrudu Memorial Award Prof K Natarajan Memorial Award Dr S K Shome Memorial Award and Dr M J Thirumalachar Young Scientist Award which are given every year during the Annual Meetings along with the Conferences to the Senior and Young Scientists and the awardees will deliver lectures in the conferences
