AchieveMents: Nari Samata Manch has vision of creating a just society in which equality exists in all spheres; equal opportunities, equal rights to resources, equality in justice. With focus on gender we work with men and women for gender sensitization. We work with marginalized and deprived communities for their development issues and realization of rights. Our approach is based on Democracy, Nonviolence, Secularism and scientific rational process. Our counseling center is run relentlessly for last 30 years. We provide psychological counseling from a gender sensitive perspective. The purpose is not to make only woman to adjust the situation but empower her to combat the problem as well as counseling of her counterpart to work on developing sensitive and egalitarian relationship. So far 2400 women have approached us for counseling. We also offer speak out and counseling services for men and so far 440 men have approached. We provide training on gender sensitive counseling to counselors. We also work on other issues of gender based violence such as Sexual harassment of women at workplace. We also work in rural and tribal area of Pune district for development issues such as Education of children from deprived communities, school development, Panchayat Raj Strengthening. We also work to engage rural men in reducing gender based violence.
