AchieveMents: The Pakhangba Huyel Lallong Shindamsang (PAHULASI) is a institute dedicated to imparting indigenous Martial Arts training to Youths and Students since its establishment in January, 1982. The students of this Institute have been participating in various cultural activities and programmes which includes Ranganiketan World Tour organized by International Society for Krishna Consciousness in 1993 and 1996; Summer Festival, Manali, 1995; All Manipur Cultural Festival, 1996; Cultural Exchange Programme, Sikkim, 1996; Festival of Martial Arts and Mask Festival, Orissa, 1996; Indian Fair, Dubai, 1997; All India Tribal Dance Festival, Mumbai, 1998; Dweep Mahotsav, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 2000; Two days Festival of Thang-Ta organized by Department of Arts & Culture, Manipur; Mega Bramhaputra Darshan Festival, Arunachal Pradesh, 2003; Gonasika Mahotsav, Orissa, 2006; Three Days Festival of Thang-Ta, Manipur 2012; World Marital Arts Festival in 2013 and 2014 both held at Chungju, South Korea. The students have received various scholarships from State Kala Akademi, Manipur, Department of Arts and Culture, Manipur and Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. They also participated in the Republic Day Celebration, 1998 at New Delhi. The institute conducted Thang-Ta classes in many Workshops like Creative Theatre Workers Workshops, 1989; Workshop for Repertory Artistes in 1994 and 1995; Theatre Workshop for students of National School of Drama (NSD) in 1994 and 1995. In the field of indigenous Games & Sports like Thang-Ta, Mukhan, Sharit-Sharat etc. the students of have participated and won many medals in the State Level, National Level and International Level competitions. The Institute backed Team Champion in the VII State Level Indigenous Martial Arts Championship sponsored by SAI, New Delhi, 1991. Moreover, the institute had also organized All Manipur Cheibi and Sharit-Sharat Championship in 1997. The students have participated and won medals in 1st, 9th and 10th State Level Invitation Cheibi Championship held in 2007, 2008 and 2010 respectively and XXI, XXII, XXIII and XXIV State Thang-Ta Championship held in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively. In the National Level, they have participated and won medals in XVII, XVIII, XIX and XX National Thang-Ta Championship held in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively and 2nd and 3rd Federation Cup, 2013 and 2014 respectively. The students also participated in the 59th National School Games, 2013 – 2014. The students won medals in International Level Competitions like 1st Asian Sub-Junior and Youth Thang – Ta Championship, Jharkhand, 2013; 2nd Asian Senior Thang-Ta Championship, Jharkhand, 2013; 1st and 2nd International Thang-Ta Championship, 2013 & 2014 respectively both held at South Korea. Not only in Thang-Ta, had the students of this institution also secured medals in other indigenous Games like Mukna & Sharit Sharat etc.
