AchieveMents: The Puducherry Co-operative Book Society was started in 1997 to publish and distribute books, conduct book exhibitions, and other related literary activities. It is governed by the elected board of directors. For the past 20 years, every year conducting book fairs and literary programmes. So far published more than 100 books. There are more than 90 book publishers, distributors and sellers from across the country are participating in the fair. More than one lakh books have been displayed for 10 days. There are several types of literary events for the school and college students such as essay, music programme, instrumental music, singing, elocution, poetry, drawing and painting competitions. Besides offering 10% discounts on all books, there are special considerations for institutions purchasing books in large numbers. All kinds of books related to text books for schools, colleges and professional courses, various types of dictionaries, Encyclopedias, computer related books, soft ware CDs, learning tools through computers, literature, competitive studies, general readings such as cookery, self improvement books are attractive collections for the people of Pondicherry. This book fair will help the society to create a thirst for books which in turn create a thirst on the development of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
