As Rural Research and Development Council started the Target Intervention Project on Sexual Health among the Truckers and Female Sex Workers . In a first step the intervention was too difficult to start but slowly we could able to reach them in a different way. The major finding from the study was that most of the FSWs were from poor background and forced to sale sex to others. Under the National AIDS Control Programme, Rural Research and Development Council was rewarded to implement the Targeted Intervention programme at Mayurbhanj dist. of Orissa by the Orissa State AIDS Control Society.(OSACS),Bhubaneswar. The project was approved for the core group (FSW and MSM) having a target of 450(FSW-250 and MSM-200) to be achieved from April 10 to March 11 in a session of one year. Rural Research and Development Council started its work under the guidance of TSU and OSACS and also successfully achieved the target within the time period. Now in 2016-17 the project is running with the target of 450(FSW-350 and MSM-250). Objective of the TI Project: -  To Control High – risk behavior of the target population.  To Identify the STD/RTI patients.  To promote use of condoms among the High – risk groups.  To increase the awareness level of the target group.  To create a pro-enabling environment.  To mobilize the community for empowerment.  To identify the PLWHA.  To Provide Care and Support.  To ensure the T.I. services to the target group.  To make them accessible for existing health service institution.  To take up advocacy for empowerment and rights of the TG.  To integrate and seek convergence of the program with other applicable scheme. Income Generating Activities: 1.Agriculture: We cultivated cereals and vegetables. We introduced new techniques of farming, which are well accepted, and this technique brought us fruitfulness. We also organized interaction meetings with the villagers. Farmers club has been formed. Vegetable grower societies have been formed 2.Sericulture: As continuous process RRDC once again has taken up Sericulture in the village of Jhipabandh of Jashipur block. It has formed Self Help Groups among older persons and has organized training for them. Tasar Society provided seeds and bought back the products.
