1. Targeted Intervention project for FSW & MSM funded by Orissa State AIDS Control Society (OSACS), Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
2. Kavach project on AIDS prevention and Control at Jamsola Inter State Check Gate for Truckers and Sex workers supported by TCIF. SHG formation and group finance 52 groups formed of 520 members. Supported by RMK, New Delhi and OSCARD, Bhubaneswar.
2. Sericulture for older persons at Kusumi Block benefiting 60 families. Supported by Help Age India.

As Rural Research and Development Council started the Target Intervention Project on Sexual
Health among the Truckers and Female Sex Workers . In a first step the intervention was too
difficult to start but slowly we could able to reach them in a different way. The major finding from
the study was that most of the FSWs were from poor background and forced to sale sex to
others.
Under the National AIDS Control Programme, Rural Research and Development Council was rewarded to implement the Targeted Intervention programme at Mayurbhanj dist. of Orissa by the Orissa State AIDS Control Society.(OSACS),Bhubaneswar. The project was approved for the core group (FSW and MSM) having a target of 450(FSW-250 and MSM-200) to be achieved from April 10 to March 11 in a session of one year. Rural Research and Development Council started its work under the guidance of TSU and OSACS and also successfully achieved the target within the time period. Now in 2016-17 the project is running with the target of 450(FSW-350 and MSM-250).
Objective of the TI Project: -
ïÆË To Control High ââ¬â risk behavior of the target population.
ïÆË To Identify the STD/RTI patients.
ïÆË To promote use of condoms among the High ââ¬â risk groups.
ïÆË To increase the awareness level of the target group.
ïÆË To create a pro-enabling environment.
ïÆË To mobilize the community for empowerment.
ïÆË To identify the PLWHA.
ïÆË To Provide Care and Support.
ïÆË To ensure the T.I. services to the target group.
ïÆË To make them accessible for existing health service institution.
ïÆË To take up advocacy for empowerment and rights of the TG.
ïÆË To integrate and seek convergence of the program with other applicable scheme.
Income Generating Activities:
1.Agriculture: We cultivated cereals and vegetables. We introduced new techniques of farming, which are well accepted, and this technique brought us fruitfulness. We also organized interaction meetings with the villagers. Farmers club has been formed. Vegetable grower societies have been formed
2.Sericulture: As continuous process RRDC once again has taken up Sericulture in the village of Jhipabandh of Jashipur block. It has formed Self Help Groups among older persons and has organized training for them. Tasar Society provided seeds and bought back the products.
