AchieveMents: SGF is a voluntary organization established in 2005 having its focus area in Keonjhar and adjoining areas of the state of Jharkhand. Since, its establishment, SGF has undertaken several community development projects, which spans across agriculture, energy access, watershed and enterprise development. With the objective to reach out to the most backward communities living in tribal districts of Odisha and Jharkhand, SGF has partnered with several civil society organisations in adjoining districts of northern Odisha, which has thus rendered a wider geographical coverage to SGF in the last one decade. SGF has done a pioneering work under the TERI-DfID clean energy programme, especially under the C2P2 initiative and successfully covered 130 villages with clean energy technology. With support from district agencies and financing institutions, it made the clean energy financing a success with a coverage of 2500 hhs through bank linkages of an amount of nearly 3cores in last financing year . Presently, SGF is working in collaboration with SURYA partners (Nexleaf Analytics, UCSD & TERI) to upscale the climate credit pilot project in several districts of Odisha. It has long standing partnership with NABARD on Livelihood promotion through Horticulture development ,Value addition of forest product and animal husbandary and Watershed in northen part of the Odisha state, OREDA and Tribal Development Dept. of Odisha and Central and presently SGF is also working with corporates partners like Aditya Birla Group and GPCL support for community development programmes. Further, it is working out a partnership with WWF to expand its energy access interventions in Odisha. Its patented "vertical farming system" has been introduced to more than 3000 farmers in the last 2-3 years. In addition to its work in energy and agriculture, SGF has worked extensively on watershed development projects. SGF is a member of CLEAN Network and is actively engaged with Nexleaf international and other donor partners to work on clean technology dissemination in rural India. Presently, SGF is operating a successful micro energy enterprise model, which promised to create a entrepreneur network in several districts of Odisha. In addition to its work on clean energy technology for rural households, SGF is now partnering with financial institutions and energy service providers to work on community level renewable energy solutions. With a team of 20 experienced professionals in energy technology, community development, watershed development and agriculture technology, SGF is expecting to work with potential stakeholders including Government, Civil Society, Donor Institutions, Private Players to develop a model for energy service delivery in rural areas.
