Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

AchieveMents: Anjana Print & Binding : This press continues to remain closed due to advancement of
technology and the market shifting from printing in type-set press to offset presses.
However we have doing some nominal binding work for children during the beginning of
the academic year.
Kamala Nehru Type Writing Institute : As in previous years we have been training girls in
type writing. This is being done with our own funds.
Thirumagal Tailoring Institute : As always this has been quite popular with the ladies in
nearby areas for undergoing training in tailoring.
Sahodari Family Counseling Centre : This is being run with Central Government giving
80% as grant and the balance being put in by the Sangam. The importance of this centre
has been growing due to valuable service being rendered in solving various problems
faced by women especially in marital issues. This year this centre at our Sangam handled
121 cases.
This Sangam took pleasure & pride in conducting the International Womenââ¬â¢s Day and
National Day for Girl Child programmes on 6th March 2009.
The Government of India, State Government of Tamilnadu & various philanthropists
have made immense contribution to the functioning of this Sangam. We thank them all.
The Sangam has been offering its services to women of various castes & religions
without any bar & bias. In doing so, we believe we have been serving the cause of
integration of the society.
The renovated building (own) was opened by the Mrs.Saraswati wife of then President Mr.V.V.Giri
