AchieveMents: Society of Biological Sciences and Rural Development was established on 19th October, 2004 by the initiative and personal efforts as well of Dr. Gopal Pandey besides some of the members of different fields from agriculture, life sciences and rural development. Society of Biological Sciences and Rural Development is registered under the Society Registration Act, 1860 (la[;k 3011 i=koyh la&1@Al-18830). The society is also registered under IT act 12A No. 58-59/52/12AA & 80G(5)(vii) 2010-2011/5901 and 4/580G No. 58-59/16/12AA & 80G 5 (vi) 2010-2011/5900 of 31.12.2010-11/5900 of 31.12.2010.
The society is publishing one Journal and one Hindi Patrika, both has RNI and ISSN No. The society also published ten books with ISBN No. The ultimate objective of the Society is economic improvement through the transfer of scientific technologies in rural areas. The Society would like to fulfill its mission through publication of research journals-original research papers, review articles, popular articles, news bulletins and extension pamphlets in the above chosen field as well as organizing seminars/ symposia/kisan gosthies on the relevant topics. It is also envisaged to invite eminent scientists to deliver talks on various aspects for dessimation of technologies on ground levels. The National Academy of Biological Sciences and Rural Development, a research wing of Society of Biological Sciences and Rural Development, has got national repute for conducting agricultural and biological researches poses enormous scope for multidisciplinary interactions for solving fundamental problems of applied research. There are 500 members associated with scientific journals published by Society of Biological Sciences and Rural Development, Allahabad. Hence it is easy to get relevant material as well as to conduct multi-location trials. The centre has requisite infrastructural facilities for conducting research successfully. Five scientists are working in this centre in different field like Plant pathology, Nematology and Fisheries. Department of Science and Technology Govt. of Indian New Delhi financed two projects (Project No. SSD/SS/027/2008) and SEED/DISHA/WOS-B/019/2012) to society and one project has been successfully completed dated 23rd Jan. 2013 and other project (Project No. SEED/DISHA/WOSB/ 019/2012) has been successfully completed dated 12.03.2014. Some Projects has also been submitted in different agency like D.S.T., D.B.T. and I.C.A.R., New Delhi for financial support. Society organized Two symposium and one National workshop viz. National Symposium on prospects, utility and challenges of biotechnology in Agricultural development during 11-12, November 2011 in Allahabad, (U.P.) and National Symposium on Innovative and modern technologies for Sustainable agriculture and rural development during 19-20, October, 2013 in Allahabad (U.P.) and one workshop viz. Technological Innovation in Agriculture and Rural Development during 13, December, 2015-20 December, 2016. Five Hundred professors, Principal Scientists, Scientists, Students participated in the symposium, Sixteen lead talks were delivered and 250 research and poster papers were presented in sixteen technical seniors of symposium and 150 participants were participated in one week national workshop.
