AchieveMents: The main objective of Soor Mandir is to preserve,propagate and develop the culture and tradition through the performance of the dance to derive spirituality and harmony and feeling the essence of beauty of God through this classical dance. Soor mandir is functioning last 17 years in the heart of this millennium city for imparting Odissi dance & Orissan Folk dance in the purest and practical sence.Soor mandir has produced 35 dance dramas and 48 Group dance for the stage & Door Darshan .Soor Mandir is the empanelled institution of Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre,Kolkatta,,Indian Council For Cultural Relation, New Delhi. Soor mandir has honoured by the Governor of Orissa-2000, by the Governor of Chennai-2006, by the Home Minister of Karnatak-2007. The dance group of Soor mandir has performed Puri Beach Festival, Kharavela Festival,Rajiv Festival, Ellora Festival, Hampi festival, Taj Festival, Marool Festival, Soorya Festival in abroad an many Festivals of India and abroad also. Soor mandir has performed 2084 stage shows till now. To revive and restore the orissan traditions of “RAJA PARBA” Soor mandir has organized a festival “RAJA MAHOTSABA “ since 2006 in the cultural capital of the state,Cuttack.. This magnificent festival has been masterminded to forge forward the typical and traditional Dance,Drama & Music of Oriyas through the performances of hundreds of eminent as well as promising artists of the state. These unique venture symbolizing the “FOLK TRADITION“ is a cultural event, purely voluntary non-profit basis.
