Tejimola is a folk tale of Assam written by Rasaraj Lakshminath Bezbarua. A merchant has two wives and a daughter Tejimola by his first wife. When the elder wife dies her stepmother is put in charge of the girl. The merchant goes abroad. Tejimola desires to attend her friendâs marriage. Her stepmother gives her a bundle of clothes to be put on near her friendâs house. As she opens the bundle,Tejimola finds there a mouse and cinders and the cloths all spoiled. Srimanta Sankardevaâs creation, Ram Vijay Bhaona is never performed by puppets. Surojit Academy chose to work on Ram Vijay Bhaona by puppet as experiment and to give a new taste to the audience. Another main objective of this show was to show the involvement of children to old age groups of people. The puppetry artist age ranged from 12 to 50 years.
