To enhance the catalytic activity by electron beam irradiation in organic synthesis of industrial importance. Both the irradiated Macro & Micro form of Pd/C catalyst showed enhanced catalytic activity
The time taken for the completion of reaction was decreased by 60 - 70 % and the product yield was increased by 10 %.
The reaction time decreased in the order 250 kGy >200 kGy >120 kGY > 100 kGy > 60 kGy > 40 kGy.
