AchieveMents: Major achievements- 1. Eradication of Preventable Blindness: Mobile van equipped with all ophthalmic equipments named “Eye Care On Wheel” to cater the slums and state run schools. Distribution of low vision equipments to BPL school going children. Free surgery like cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cornea transplant Distribution of spectacles. 2. Education- BRAILLE PUBLISHING HOUSE won the best Braille press from government of west Bengal 2011. Apart from higher educational text book have a proud of publishing Gurudeb Rabindranath and Swami Vivakananda’s work along with other story books. 3. BRAILLE AUDIO DIGITAL LIBRARY AT THE COLLEGE STREET CAMPUS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA. Having the membership of 120 blind students, equipped with all modern facilities for the blind, a remarkable feather in our cap.. Physically Challenged Corner at Birchandra State Central Library, Tripura 4. 125 scholarships for blinds students undergoing graduation and post graduation. 5.EFFECTIVE VOCATIONAL TRAINING OF THE VISUALLY CHALLENGED Computers, Travel and Tourism affiliated to west Bengal Council of Technical Education and Labour Ministry. Physiotherapy Eco Friendly Paper Craft. 6. Sports Regular conduct Chess [beneficiary participated in international chess championship at Swiden] Cricket Football Car rally Athletics. Always bagged gold and silver medals nationally and internationally in the kitty to be proud about. 7. Recreation . Conducting tours for fun Picnics. Extra curriculum Dance students always won prizes in national competition. Music- formed a band named[ ulka with blind beneficiaries. Regular t.v. and radio shows on musics by our blind students. Technology Coordinate and cooperate with C-DAC and IITs to develop software and other accessible materials for the use of blind. 9. Advocacy- regular dialogues with government and private agencies for the protection of right of person with disabilities Finally our goal is to produce a visually challenged as a productive member of the society.
