AchieveMents: UIT was established in the year 2009 by the Alumini of Government College of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore and National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy in order to provide quality technical education in this region on par with international standard.
The centre for Upskilling and Enhancement (CUE) has been established to enhance the technical skills and expertise of our staff and students. It aims at improving the creative capabilities of our staff and students through frequent interactions with the experts from industries and leading academic institutions.
The Atmel Lab was established in 2010 in collaboration with Atmel University to create the thirst for taking up research based projects. The R&D section of ATMEL lab has been striving consistently to provide analytical and research oriented technical education to students. In collaboration with the ATMEL Corporation India, through the ATMEL MCU centre, research projects are undertaken by the students in the field of embedded systems like

The research work also extends to micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) such as
ïÆË Designing MEMS Based variometer for detecting the vertical speed of the AIRCRAFT in Avionics applications
ïÆË Designing MEMS Based Bolometer for Detecting the Radiations in Nuclear Power Plants
In order to provide sufficient knowledge on software and hardware to circuit branch students value added programs and workshops are regularly conducted through ATMEL MCU centre.
The institute has installed Rovan Software for keeping a record of all relevant details related to studentsââ¬â¢ daily attendance, time table and other important activities. By making use of the facility ââ¬ËVoice 2 Messageââ¬â¢ the parents are regularly informed about the academic performance of their wards and the marks secured by them in the Internal Assessment Exam along with their attendance particulars.
Learning Management System (LMS) aims at inducing the students to learn more about their subjects through a process of self learning. The session wise lessons, notes, relevant Questions along with appropriate answers are updated online, helping the students to improve their learning abilities and enhance their overall knowledge.
An innovation centre has been founded in the college with the objective of improving the creative and the innovative talents of our students in solving pertinent day-to- day problems faced by the people in and around our region.
The Placement and Training Cell has put up a splendid performance by helping 90% of the eligible students to find suitable placement in the last three years.
