AchieveMents: UNITY MALANCHA, a DRAMA TROUPE OF Halisahar, 24 Parganas(North) 42 Kms away from the Capital City of Kolkata, have been able to achieve the slevel of Proficiency and skill in performing stage plays for the last two decades. It have thirty bonafide members among which 15 artists including Director, actors and technician attend rehearshal and stage shows on regular basis. Unity Malancha generally perform 20 to 22 shows per month (excepting the months of rainy season) and the artists move from one place to another all over India throughout the year. In this way the group rear up India culture and creativity and also try to step up the language of Bengali Culture. The artists of this group, not only involve themselves as participants, but also they take active parts in spreading art and culture among common people. They are also favoured by the group with remuneration for their work of art and culture. This financial assistance encourage impetus among them and is also helpful to their respective families.
At the outset, members of Unity Malancha were loudy with only stage shows of plays. But from the 5th or 6th year, the members begal to organize seminars, drama-festivals, street plays, plays by children etc. by which activities of the group increased dayby day. One more remarkable programme was also organized by the group i.e. celebration of birty centenary, birth bi-centenary of great personalities or art and culture.
At present Unity Malancha have chalked out a year-long programme of plays, seminars childrenââ¬â¢s playsand celebration. At least four to five days in each month the group will arrange these programme in different towns and cities and also in Kolkata to arouse enthusiasm and Zeal for art and culture among the artists.
Moreover Unity Malancha will organize Theatre-training, Workshop of direction, acting, writing and technicalities of theatre. This year long programme will engage a considerable number of people artists and personalities of theatre.
Unity Malancha had been trying to find out novelty, subtle creativity and snew languages of theatre by its continuous process of performing art.
