AchieveMents: • Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss; • Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all; • Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all; • End hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture; • End poverty in all its forms particularly in indigenous people facing the danger of extinction; • Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all stages; • Ensure inclusive and equitable quality, primary, secondary technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university and skill development; • Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; • Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all; • Reduce inequality within and among states & countries; • Make smart villages, towns, cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable; • Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns for reducing degradation, pollution and poverty; • Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts; and • Disaster and conflict management by reducing risk factors, addressing environmental needs and support, peace building and promoting sustainable development. Utthan has impacted a wide range of areas that relate to holistic landscape management, human development, tackle impacts of climate change and improved natural resources management. Its work has led to:- • Conservation, restoration, afforestation, protection and sustainable use of 10 million hectares of deforested and degraded forest lands involving 5 million indigenous families under Joint Forest Management, improving productivity, profitability, prosperity and peace; • Raising awareness, support, engagement and investment in agroforestry of 10,000 forest villages and other villages involving 10 million indigenous families, eradicating poverty and hunger and promoting peace and happiness; • Rehabilitation, restoration and reclamation of 100,000 hectares of mined, degraded & chemically polluted lands, economically benefiting more than one million poor and vulnerable people; • Provision of safe drinking water and sanitation to more than one million households; • Distribution of improved germplasm saplings, 200 million in number in 20 years to raise agroforestry plantations; • Nearly 3 million indigenous people becoming literate, educated and skilled through education and training; • Health care for one million infants and children and 0.75 million women and 0.5 million other patients; • Creation of environmental awakening to 3 million people for achieving sustainability; • Promotion of cultivation of sugar cane & Jatropha and production of bioethanol, biodiesel and biomethane as green energy; • Promotion of cultivation and processing of medicinal plants and herbal drugs for health care and nutrition; and • Conservation and development of Bharia and Baiga vulnerable tribes facing the danger of extinction.
