Worldwide Veterinary Service India Key Issues and Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

Operational Districts: North Goa, South Goa,Chamarajanagar,The Nilgiris

Operational States: GOA, KARNATAKA, TAMIL NADU

AchieveMents: Nilgiris district has become rabies free through the systematic rabies control work by WVS India. This includes sterilisation of the street dogs (17 000 operated so far) and annual vaccination drives. These programs also serve as practical training courses for veterinarians and assisting personnel. Over 1500 vets have attended the WVS India programs so far and now similar but state-wide program is beginning in Goa.
