The Rural Women Society Key Issues and Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

AchieveMents: (1). Vocational Training: - The organisation has done Vocational training centre at Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai and training of girls & women (youth) are given in embroidering, tailoring, wool knitting & weaving. Altogether 30 trainees have undergone 3 months training course in 3 batches during this year. Not only this we have also training on weaving & Agarbati making. For rural agriculture we have training on Mushroom plantation in which 25 trainees have been given training on line this years. (2) Fruit preservation training: - One week training course on Domestic Method of fruit & vegetable preservation conducted by community fruit & Nutrition Extension Unit, Imphal is done every year at Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai under the sponsorship of ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of women & Child Development, Food & Nutrition Board) , Gol . About 30 participants attended the programme. (3) Handicraft training Training on crafts is done,specially on making traditional ornaments made from indigenous reeds known as "kouna" and bamboos. About 36 women have undergone this training programme and after this training programme these people are capable of earning money for their livelihood. (4) SOCIAL SERVICE CAMP. The organization has done every year social service at the locality. During the camp, many Nalas (Drains), culverts were cleaned and plantation of 100 different trees were by the volunteers. (5) Creche Centre: - One Creche Centre has been running with 25 to 30 children at kodompokpi Mamang Leikai, lmphal. These children are usually for the working women who brought their children for keeping in the crèche centre. This year we have 25 children admitted in the Creche Centre. (6) Yoga and Naturopathy Awareness programme The organisation has been organising one day yoga and naturapathy every year.
