AchieveMents: We strengthened our presence and activities in 14 districts, 84 Blocks, 479 Village Panchayats through which we directly impacting the lives of 2816091 people of Tamil Nadu over the past 6 years. The year 2005-2006 was a year of significant changes and introspection for us at Coodu Trust and marks the beginning of a new era. We therefore present this annual report as a summary of our growth over the past few years(since 2000-2009). The Watershed Development Programmes and our activities in creating and supporting women Self Help Groups have been the backbone of our activities in different districts. Our other activities have been in implementing Total sanitation Campaigns, Income Generation Programmes Health programmes, and support to Government agencies on their Research, Training, Information Technology and IEC design & production needs. Coodu Trust has always been supporting the implementation of the Watershed Development Programmes by conducting PRA, mobilizing and organizing the community, Providing training and capacity building to different levels of implementers, appointing the Watershed Development Team members, other technical and managerial support, managing the development works and guiding the activities at the grassroots levels. The Watershed Development Team member employed by Coodu Trust on behalf of the Project Implementing Agencies (PIA) have now been transferred as direct contract employees of the PIAs. We however continue our support to the PIAs in different districts by guiding the watershed development programmes and taking up specific tasks. During this year we are also entering in areas such as Entrepreneurship Development, Marketing Infrastructure and support for Agricultural, Horticultural, Forest and Cottage industry products including the products of Women Self Help Groups and small and marginal producers. We are also establishing Health services such as Counseling centers, Care & Support of People Living with HIV / AIDS and working on ways to reach Health care to the unreached. Our Research and consultancy division is now a full service research agencies providing online research services, large scale survey research, PRA, Qualitative research, Data processing and analysis services. Our Communication center is evolving into a self-sustainable design and production unit providing quality design, development and production services in print, folk media, photography, video and cyber media. Our Training division has now networked trainers and consultants on a range of subjects. We have recently completed training of 35000 members of 2500 Women self help groups. We have also supported the training of care providers of People living with HIV/AIDS. Environment Sanitation training under Total Sanitation Campaign has been provided to panchayal level federation leaders and self help group animator representatives in 2 districts. We are now developing syllabus for training and certification programmes in a number of skill areas where formal training and certification does not exist at present.
