AchieveMents: Eduction to tribal and minor communities through all round education and tribal upliftment. Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar - the biggest Residential Tribal Institute in South Asia that provides Free Accommodation, Food, Healthcare and Education from Standard-I to Post Graduation level and all basic amenities of life absolutely free with a job assurance after completion of education and vocational training. Orissa is regarded as the second largest tribal populated state after Madhya Pradesh. Orissa is recorded to accumulate 62 tribal community and out of them 13 are regarded to be the primitive tribal group. Every tribe has its uniqueness in daily and social tradition and customs. Students of this institute have proved their superiority not only in academic but in other field of activities like sports, music and other extra curricular field and the achievements are phenomenal Besides educating the students the Institute has taken up the responsibility of empowering them with various technical knowledge. It envisages to make them self sufficient in future. With this aim the Institute has been providing vocational training, computer knowledge etc. There by the students have been getting knowledge on Knitting, appliqué, horticulture, Pisciculture etc. The vocational unit has also been preparing candle and phenyl for internal and external consumption. The Institute has its own research unit that carry out various research studies to strengthen and provide right knowledge and activities to enrich various innovative programmes in the institute. Considering the health situation and requirements of 25000 students the Institute has been providing all time health care facilities by appointing efficient doctors, nurses and attendants. The Institute has a full fledged dispensary within its campus.
