AchieveMents: Profile of Sivananda Sevashram Trust. Sivananda Sevashram Trust is undertaking various sewa activities for the benefit of the downtrodden and underprivileged. It wants to spread the sweet, simple and divine message of Swami Sivananda: BE GOOD, DO GOOD. A brief activity report of the Sivananda Sevashram Trust is given below separately. 1. ISDS approved Tailoring Classes For the benefit of poor and downtrodden in and around villages near our Ashram, we conduct Tailoring Classes with 100% placement guarantee. We are a Training Partner to NIFT TEA, Tirupur. Center ID is: 9469. Classes are conducted under ISDS scheme of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. We have successfully completed 4 batches and 67 candidates have been trained so far. At present, two batches are going on simultaneously and about 28 candidates are being trained. Of the 67, at least 15 persons have been placed in the nearby garments unit. We are working in association with Saksham, a National Organisation for the welfare of the differently abled persons. We have trained 4 differently abled persons and in the ongoing batches, 2 are differently abled. 2. Weekly Mayopathy Counselling Centre. Sivananda Sevashram Trust is conducting counselling classes on all Sundays to ten such Mayopathy patients. We offer them free transportatio. Classes are free. Physiotherapist, Yoga , Pranayama experts, Naturopaths conduct classes. 3. Tree Plantation: So far, we have planted about 4000 trees. 4. Personality development classes: We conduct training programmes and the syllabus includes moral stories, life history of our ancient Rishis, National leaders, National Heros, History of our country, Nation’s success stories, Bharath’s contribution to the world, Physical exercises, Yogasanas, Orientation in Science, Vedic Maths, games, Sanskrit Language learning; Patriotic songs, Bharatha Matha Puja, Sankalp Time, Talent development platform etc; You can please visit you tube and search for Natrangal for the video. 5. Family get together Of late, families are failing to fulfill their duty as cultural training centres. Narendran could not have become Swami Vivekananda but for his mother’s contribution in his upbringing. There are so many such examples in our country. But, today that atmosphere is almost missing in families and we are simply copying western pattern in all walks of life. Relationship exists for the name sake. Keeping these aspects in mind, we organise families get together once in two months. 6. Nara Sewa Narayana Sewa We request our friends and neighbors to donate one handful of rice each day before they start cooking, for the benefit of the poor and needy. This has to be done with a sense of gratitude to GOD for having given us all what we have today. We have a separate bag for the purpose. This rice is collected on every Purnima day and used for the Orphanages and other Anna Dhanam. So far, we have around 50 households in the scheme. 7. Other Activities include Conducting Special Yoga Classes for Diabetes Patients in association with SVYASA University, conducting yoga classes, Lectures on Bhagavath Gita etc.
