State Resource Centre ADRI Ranchi Key Issues and Operational Areas, Major Activiities & Achivements

Operational Districts: Bokaro, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Hazaribagh, Kodarma, Pakur, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Jamtara

AchieveMents: To provide academic and technical resource support to literacy programmes through organising training programmes, material development and production, publication, extension activities, innovative projects, research studies and evaluations. Besides that, monitoring and supervision of on-going literacy programme by State Resource Centre (SRC) is a continuous process. Achievements so far, Training: Altogether 379 training programmes were organized for 10138 persons of various categories. Material Development: Total 182 books including CE Books, training manuals, e-Primers, vocational training manuals and promotional materials etc. have been developed for the basic literacy, computer literacy and equivalency programme. Development of district specific Post Literacy Primer for Pakur, Koderma, Latehar, Garhwa, Giridih and Lohardaga districts during 2007 – 2009. Innovative: Orientation of 1350 PRI Functionaries of four districts on Saakshar Bharat under BP GP Presidents Campaign. Production and broadcasting of Radio programme: 10 episodes of Radio Drama, 30 minutes each, titled Kahani Gunja Ki along with Jingles and Spots were broadcasted during March – May, 2006. 12 episode of Radio drama on literacy was broadcasted in 2009. Computer Based Functional Literacy Programme: Successfully organised 19 camp based Computer Based Functional Litearcy Programme in eight districts of Jharkhand. Above 850 females were enrolled under this programme The enrolled females were imparted skill development training also such as cutting and tailoring, mehandi designing and beautician course. Model Adult Education Centres (AECs): Established and running 20 model AECs in rural areas of Jharkhand with financial support from RECL under CSR initiatives. Saansad Aadarsh Gram (SAGY): Altogether 19 GPs have been adopted under SAGY by Hon MPs in Jharkhand,12 are under jurisdiction of SRC, Ranchi. Right from environment building to training teaching learning and monitoring of SAakshar Bharat Programme is being carried out by SRC. Besides that Awareness Camps on issues like Financial Literacy, Legal Literacy etc. are also being organized under inter personal media campaign. So far, 11334 learners have been enrolled under basic literacy and more than 10000 have been declared literate through an assessment test conducted by NIOS and NLMA. Environmental Literacy Programme: Environment building activities is being carried out by SRC in the identified villages of 5 GPs near the bank of river Ganga in Sahibganj districts. Interpersonal Media Campaign: Awareness programme on Electoral, Legal and Financial literacy have been organized as a part of environment building for Saakshar Bharat. Launched in 2014, more than 200 awareness camps were organized so far.
