AchieveMents: State Resource Centre, Kerala is an autonomous organization instituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under the management and supervision of General Education Department, Government of Kerala. The objective of SRC, Kerala is to provide academic and technical resource support for comprehensive and sustainable non-formal/ adult/ continuing/lifelong and community education. SRC, Kerala is unique in nature by dealing wide range of beneficiaries such as illiterate to highly educated, poor to rich, marginalized to mainstream. SRC has been synchronizing educational components, technical skill and manpower for a better and sustainable human resource development. Major Acivements 1. Received NLM-UNESCO Award in 2003 for its outstanding contributions in the field of Literacy & Continuing Education Programme. 2. Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon evaluated SRC, Kerala and graded A* for the outstanding performance of SRC. 3. National level award received for the conduct of best research study. 4. SRC evaluated several projects like Environmental Literacy Programme (ENLITE) of Attappady Hills Area Development Society (AHADS) and the Total Primary Education Programme (TPEP) by the Kannur District. 5. Several feasibility studies were conducted on behalf of the Directorate of Adult education, Government of India for setting up of JSS in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. 6. Produced more than 1000 titles of print materials. 7. Produced 150 titles of non-print materials. 8. Resource support to Comprehensive Braille Literacy Programme of Malappuram district. 9. Resource support to Environment Literacy Programme (ENLITE) of AHADS. 10. Comprehensive Adolescence Education Campaign at Thaliparambu block in Kannur District 11. Extended resource support for the development of a Bridge Primer in Kurumba, Muduga and Irula language for the tribal community in Attapadi Area of Palakkadu district. 12. Successfully organized 100 pre-marital counseling camps all over Kerala. 13. Publishing monthly magazine for Resource Persons and beneficiaries. 14. Conducted and published more than 100 Research studies on various topics and issues. 15. Highly qualified and committed staff. 16. Housed at own building situated at Nandavanam in Thiruvananathapurm. 17. Coordination with a good number of GOs and NGOs for joint action and for implementing various programme. 18. Project and programme management is one vital area under operation. 19. Providing resource support to NGOs for developing and implementing development education projects. 20. Wide net work with national and international agencies. 21. Running a Community College in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. 22. Experience in designing curriculum for vocational training and other skill development programmes. 23. Resource support for the establishment of Lakshadweep Literacy Mission Authority (LLMA) and for running Continuing Education Programme of Lakshadweep. 24. Resource support to Total Literacy Programmes in Ezhome Village (Kannur), Kottayam municipality, Ernakualam district and entire state of Kerala. 25. Developed an Open Distance and Flexible Learning Programme on Community Development in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning, Canada for the Community Development Workers such as; Preraks, ASHA Workers, Anganvadi Workers, Kudumbasree Workers, Tribal Promoters, NGO Workers and Aspirant Social Workers.
