ASSOCIATION FOR INDIAS DEVELOPMENT AIDOverseas2016-20174428192In 2005, VIKAS began work with small salt producers ( Agariyas) from Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. To reduce the cost of salt production by 70% ( cost of diesel to pump out underground brine) and dependence on traders, VIKAS introduced Solar Pump to replace Diesel pumps. From 2008 to 2017 VIKAS has helped installation of 45 solar pumps by providing technical - credit support. For this VIKAS has mobilised resources from NABARD, AID, USA and used own funds.
