AchieveMents: VARRAT has made substantial achievements in the field of the followings by reaching to rural, tribal area communities for the comprehensive development in Kendrapara and Keonjhar District of Odisha. Considering the vital role of CBOs in the rural and tribal development process, VARRAT has strengthened 2 SHG Federations, 669 SHGs, 25 Youth Clubs, 25 Child Clubs and 40 (JJS)Jana Jagruti Sanghathan ( Apex body of the village organisation. 380 Govt. ASHA Workers under NRHM trained. 480 PRI membersââ¬â¢ trained190 young, adolescent girls sensitized on their social economic issues. 260 rural and tribal youth leadership developed. 15 severe children provided referral services. 30 critical pregnant mothers life saved. 378 malnourished children &1986 children with childhood illness treated. 300 children in 15 Balwadi centers, 780 families linked to Govt. health services. 300 malnourished treated. More than 80% children and 85% pregnant mothers were fully immunized. 2186 children were facilitated for their higher educaation. 30 youth in driving, 25 in mason, 20 in computer skill, 30 in tailoring, 20 in motor cycle training, 10 in hope appliance repairing and engaged. 1500 women and poor farmers took vegetable cultivation. 30 women trained on micro enterprises. With the assistance of Odisha State Social Welfare Board, Govt. of Odisha, VARRAT has been managing a CRECHE centre at Lunimathia village in Mahakalpara Block of Kendrapara district. During 2015-16, total 25 tribal (3-5) year children were enrolled. With a view to improve the health condition of the target people as well as ensuring better health services & sanitation within their reach a meaningful initiative has been undertaken to promote and manage the Primary Health Centre (New) at Batighara in Mahakalpara block of Kendrapara district with the support of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha under Public Private Partnership.. During the reporting period 34573 OPD cases attended under Allopathic and AYUSH department. Pathology services are provided to 6451 patients. In order to decrease the infant mortality and maternal mortality rate, institutional delivery has been one of the top priorities of the Government in the health sector. Due to the effort of the team, 173 deliveries were made safely in Batighar PHC (N). Convergence with Government line depts. we reach the poverty alleviation, social and economic security facilities, benefits, scheme of VARRATs, BWCs, ANMs, PHC, and CHC including other government health officials & NRHM health facilities & services are being reached to unreached tribal and marginal
